My Favorite Online Resources:

Food Humor:

This is rapper Aesop Rock’s (born Ian Matthias Bavitz) guide to breakfast cereals, and possibly the funniest and most passionate writing you will ever find on the topic.

These are very real Weight Watcher’s recipe cards from 1974, the year I was born. I can’t even begin to prepare you for this culinary abomination. It’s so wrong on so many levels, it’s hard to believe that anyone ate any of these. Even once. And someone “created” these recipes! Just click the damn link. And read every card and jump down every rabbit hole you can find. It’s worthy of a coffee table book. Hmm…

And if you can make it to the bottom of this, you’ve got a cast iron gut..

Chow.com is one of the best resources out there for foodies. Video demonstrations, local boards (helpful for traveling and wondering where’s good to eat), recipes, and much more, it’s like the Food Network’s website but without Emeril and Sandra Lee and the Martha Stewart layout.
*shudders*

This is my first go-to site for recipes. If I don’t find the scent of the trail I’m on there, it’s back to Google.

The Egullet forums are massive discussion boards. Tony Bourdain and all his cronies post fairly regularly, and it gets surly, so be warned.. Lots of straight talk happening around these parts.

..and just because I’ve got a weakness for all things short, brown, sexy, and smart as a whip, Make Me Blush Drive Me Wild is an oasis of all those things..

ELECTRONICA:

NoysToise is one of those brilliant bastards that either encourages or discourages you.  Definitely one or the other..

Instructables.com is a veritable fountain of knowledge, arts and crafts, handmade electronics, and a great overall geek forum.  Pro memberships are cheap and totally worth it in my book.
